Total Power of Departments: Project Coordinators
SEFT Project design typically proceeds from a feasibility project through an outline project to a contract Project. The idea of an outline project is to produce the first proposal for the potential owner. The prepared project material is of preliminary nature and prepared for first price indication: Definition of Main Dimensions, General Arrangement, Machinery Arrangement, Preliminary Midship Section, Lightweight Calculation, Specification, Hull Form, Loading and Stability, Speed and Power, 3-D Exterior Model. Contract project is prepared to guarantee the required capacities, capabilities, characteristics, quality, etc. of the final product, the ship. The material is adequate for the shipyard and the Owner to sign a new building contract.
Ship Theory and Calculations Department
The main purpose of the Ship Theory and Calculations Department is to develop the General Arrangement as well as to co-ordinate its further development with other departments, to produce and obtain approvals for ship theory documentation (such as intact trim stability booklets, damage stability booklets, tank calibrations, inclining experiments etc.), to calculate and control weight, to prepare hull forms, with power/speed analysis using CFD-tools and to co-ordinate model testing.
Hull Department
Hull Department produces classification drawings but also to ensure sound structural concept and to support co-ordination of different disciplines as well as to provide information to support procurement and production planning activities. We build the structural model from the General Arrangement and link them together. Thus the structure and the General Arrangement are based on the same model, which ensures co-ordination throughout the design phase.
Outfitting Department
Outfitting Department produces schemes, lay-outs and related calculations. We design the 3D model for all outfitting such as Hull and deck fittings, equipment and inventory deck stores and workshops, Anchoring and mooring equipment, Steering arrangement, lifesaving and boat equipment, accommodation ladders etc. Additionally schemes and 3D Isometrics are prepared for the systems such as − Exhaust gas systems Steam and heat generating, Cooling systems, Fuel and lubrication oil systems, Compressed air systems, Ship systems, such as bilge, ballast, etc. Water systems, Sanitation systems, Heating and refrigeration, Air conditioning and ventilation, Waste handling, Firefighting etc. Detail engineering covers Deck outfitting, Interior, HVAC, Machinery, Electrical. At the end of designing and 3D modeling mentioned systems, outfitting department serves installation drawings, foundation drawings, material and equipment lists, grilles and gratings arrangement, stairs, ladders, hatches, rigging, etc. arrangement and prefabrication drawings of ducts and piping including cable trays, Pipe package and equipment unit drawings, Pipe installation drawings, Isometric drawings.
